There were more than 140,000 reported, rapes and more than 760,000 reported, assaults in 2014 alone, and the numbers were already skyrocketing before, the covid pandemic and rioting. The good news is it is, possible to live life able to confidently dissuade violence when you need to even amidst social chaos.

Kidnapdefense.com is a new project from Daniel Dunn (a childhood victim of violence, To-Shin Do Black belt with more than 30 years of martial arts experience, ACE certified personal trainer and supporter of countless survivors of assault) to educate as many women as possible with the most simple and effective skills and knowledge you can have to escape or defeat an attacker, if or when you need to.

The Basic Combat Flow TM

WARNING: This information is extremely dangerous and ought to only be used for self and community protection. This information is presented for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for the live course guided by a competent instructor. Always seek advice from your doctor before beginning any training regimen. It is very easy to hurt yourself or someone else training – so always train safely!

1. Awareness of Environment
First, it’s extremely important to be comfortably aware of our environment; to spot where danger, exits and resources are – so we can escape or avoid danger, before we have to use force to stop it.

2. Use Voice Commands to Stun the Attacker
Next, using our voice to stun the attacker and attract attention; can stop many abduction attempts, because most rapists are coward abusers that greatly fear anyone fighting back against their threats/attacks. Using words like, “get back!”, “get away from me!”, “back up!” and “stop it!” are excellent phrases to use because they not only allow you throw your voice to stun the attacker – they give the attacker a command that they can follow, while warning them of the impending doom that they, are about to bring upon themselves.

3-6. Avoid Being Struck or Grabbed While Stunning & Disabling as Necessary
If you can’t escape or scare the attacker away with your voice, it is then imperative to avoid being grabbed or struck; while stunning and disabling them as necessary to escape or control them until police arrive.

3. Movement
To best educate movement, I first ask people if they’ve ever played basketball. The feeling of being able to move in any direction at any time, while paying attention to what’s around you at the same time; is the very best place to begin. Your movement is without question your strongest asset.

4. Stunning Strikes
Next, to get used to how scary and frightful an attempted kidnapping can be and to educate some of the most essential movements; I recommend thinking about playing a “game” – with one partner who will attempt to grab your arm or wrist, then touch the top of your head with their other hand. Your job is to be evasive like playing basketball and not let them grab or tap you; while you poke them in the eyes with your finger-tips, palm smash them in the nose, jaw, throat or neck, and/or elbow them in the sternum, stomach or belly-button.
Of course be very careful to not, do any harm to your training partner! And it’s best to start by training at 10, 20 and 30%+ speed for safety and accuracy.

5. Disabling Strikes
After you “score” a stunning strike that takes their attention, use that brief moment to aim and fire a knee or kick to the groin; powered from your hip to disable them, then – if necessary for the circumstances, knee them to the jaw to finish them (possible, fatality).

6. Continue Steps 1 – 5 As Necessary
As always if necessary, continue being evasive while delivering stunning and disabling strikes, until you either escape or submit the attacker. Many skilled attackers can receive extreme amounts of strikes and even chokes before being submitted or dissuaded – so it is most safe and efficient to stun and disable as quickly as possible, instead of allowing the attacker time to continue to attack you.

I definitely recommend practicing leaning against a wall with your finger-tips, palm (base of palm, below ring and pinky fingers) and elbow to get the feel for how your body needs to be positioned to strike and move appropriately.

From there practicing with a mirror to use your whole body to strike with those tools like you did on the wall is excellent practice, until you can train more with partners and other target striking.

Please Remember:

By staying alert of our surroundings and knowing where exits and potential danger are, we can prevent or escape danger before it can harm us.

And by summoning our fighting spirit/”basketball-self-defense” energy and using our voice to command danger away before we take physical action – we can gain the moral advantage while breaking the will of the attacker, while also being on the safe side of moral and legal issues that commonly arise from having to dissuade common attackers.

I’m not a lawyer and this is not legal advice, it’s also very important to note for legal, mental and emotional reasons – to not, say that you’re sorry if or when you have to use force to protect yourself or someone else from violence. Your life is sacred and you have not just a right but a duty to protect yourself and your loved ones. Again, anyone attacking you is bringing violence upon themselves.

Being comfortable with this knowledge is imperative to being able to use the movements efficiently. So I recommend having fun practicing this regularly and safely (especially leaning against a wall..), so you’re most comfortable with with everything when you need to be. And so you’ll be ready to easily learn and integrate the new video course that is in production (donations help!;))

Bonus: The Combat Flow TM From Behind!

After you feel comfortable and confident with the above information; think about and try safely practicing how to use the Combat Flow TM if the attacker manages to grab your arm and pull you in to be grabbing you from behind. How would you attempt to move, scream/bite and score stunning and disabling strikes, to escape or finish them? Like eye-poking, palm smashes, elbows and heel kicks?

1. Remain Aware of Your Environment
You may be able to slam and/or lean your head (spine straight, closest to your forehead as possible) into the attackers jaw and slam them into a wall, a corner, a door, or even the ground or another person; if you practice remaining comfortably aware of your environment.

2. Scream & Bite to Stun & Disable the Attacker as Necessary
The human body breathes best in the nose, to the back and then bottom of the lungs then up and out the front of the lungs; this is especially important for survival beyond good health and function; when we need to scream and then exert strength without breathing oxygen before heavy cardio. Simply sitting where no one will bother you and breathing comfortably for 2-20+ minutes is some of the best therapy known to human kind. If you have to bite an attacker; be immediately ready to move & strike as soon as possible:

3. Movement
Like normal without someone grabbing us, we can still move by rotating and moving the lower hips over our feet to power and guide the spine, shoulders and arm/palm (instead of trying to flex your back muscles). And, by strategically relaxing your legs with hips over the heels; we can gain significant power using body weight and gravity instead of muscle to move even large and strong attackers as necessary.

4. Stunning Strikes
Once we’re able to safely move from our hips (instead of torquing our own spine) we can then practice aiming our spear hand/finger tips or palm at the attackers eyes or face and then turn our hips/spine/arm to power the strikes necessary to survive and escape. It’s great practice to lean your back against a wall and then practice leaning into it with finger tips and palms to feel how your body needs to be positioned; and then practicing that imagining how scary it would be to successfully use that if someone actually grabbed your head and mouth from behind. And like the picture above, it’s great practice to always think where your elbow would land if you had to swing your hips and body to avoid an attacker from behind.

5. Disabling Strikes
If we are able to move enough or “score” a stunning strike that takes their attention; we can (even with our back turned where we can’t see) aim where the attackers groin is and fire several upward heel kicks to disable them so we can survive and escape. It’s great practice to see if you can touch your heel to your own palm kicking your heel up behind you, to then practice kicking an attackers groin while they’re directly behind you. If you’re heel can’t reach their groin; you can practice swinging your hips and arms to power momentum to your palms (rotating hips) to smash their crotch to disable as necessary to survive and escape.

6. Continue Steps 1-5 As Necessary
Like always, there are attackers capable of enduring huge amounts of strikes and even counter chokes; so it is best to strike with the most proficient posture and force as soon as in necessary. And it is great practice and fun to practice moving your momentum from powering strikes to the eyes or face then to the groin or legs while not allowing them to strike or move us.

Slap Defense:

After practicing the Combat Flow TM with the game of avoiding wrist grabs a lot, you likely noticed how you could also dodge punches while delivering stunning and disabling strikes to the core of the body. If striking straight to the attackers face, head, neck, stomach or groin (best options) aren’t possible because the attacker is moving and or striking too much or too quickly; we may have to target their attacking limbs before or as we target their head or groin.

The best way to counter a slap or hook punch; is to evade just enough to be safe, while swinging our entire body-weight momentum into our arm-forearm and palm edge – into the wrist, or center of the attackers forearm bones, to either stun or disable them.

We do this by practicing what I call a fast response, which involves shifting and pivoting the hips and spine, slightly at an angle; in a slow-to-fast motion, kind of like avoiding a bumble-bee or wasp, or someone swatting at us – so we can evade and strike at the same time. The motion is very similar to swinging a kettle-bell or heavy object to generate momentum to power the swing, instead of using muscle power alone. Please be careful practicing because this can, break the arm easily if done right.

The idea comes from an intermediate/advanced skill of being able to use an upward, popping elbow strike to the attackers jaw from below or straight in; to pop their head up or back – to then swing and pivot our body momentum into our arm and palm-edge; to smash the corner or side of their neck to stun, disable or finish them (possible fatality).

In the beginning, it’s best to practice this safely and with a sense of how to use a slow-to-fast, body-weight momentum shifting and pivoting; to deliver the strikes through a target like hitting a button, instead of attempting to move too quickly with muscle. It’s also good to practice attempting to strike with a slight part of the front of the palm, with the side (base of palm below pinky and ring fingers and the edge next to there, not by the knuckle joint). And, it’s good to practice with the right and left palms, moving from inside to outside, and outside to inside, to become most capable, safe and confident. Again, always practice safely!

Kidnap Defense for Kids!

Always stay close to mom or dad and – Stomp, Kick, Scream & Bite; if someone grabs you or tries to take you somewhere, is the simple and yet very effective protocol for kids, to escape or dissuade an attacker.

Stomp
– many attackers are seen on camera grabbing kids from behind; so teaching kids to stomp on top of the attackers feet while being held can help them distract the attacker enough to escape.

Kick – even though kids have small legs – they can be devastating if their little heels swing strongly into the side of the shins, knees, inner thigh and especially the groin. Teaching kids to practicing safe, swinging rear heel kicks with the parents is great fun and practice.

Scream – everyone who’s spent time in public knows how little voices can travel, so educate your little ones on one the only times you want them to scream their loudest – if someone attempts to grab them or take them.

Bite – the human jaw assembly is ironically considered to be the strongest in the animal kingdom because of the dimensions, which means that even a little mouth can make a huge impact on big strong hands, arms or faces that attempt to kidnap little kids.

Educating your kids to what every adult ought to know – that it is ok to harm someone enough to escape and live if they try to hurt you, and that they and you shouldn’t feel bad about that; will help them or you survive and be healthy during and after an attack.

Arm/Wrist Lock to Control the Attacker

WARNING: This information is extremely dangerous and ought to only be used for self and community protection. This information is presented for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for the live course guided by a competent instructor. The wrist and elbow and even shoulder can break very easily, so be extremely careful practicing this.

Remain aware of Your Environment
This is so valuable I wanted to share this before I make the new video, I’m still busy moving and will make it soon!

If or when you need to control or disable an attacker, you can use their joints and painful body surfaces as leverage points to disable or hold them.

Simply hold your arms out in front of you hands open, then point your thumbs toward the ground with your palm moving down vs up; with thumbs pointing down the wrist becomes very vulnerable and can break easily by simply torquing the wrist up – if the thumb is kept down and the flat of the hand/palm vertical. It is possible for an attacker to escape this however difficult, so it’s best to disable or control as quickly as possible.

If necessary from this position with thumb pointing down, we can straighten their arm and hold pressure on the elbow joint either threatening with pain/pressure to break it or actually breaking it if necessary to save yourself or a loved one.

There a many different ways from many different positions to catch an attacker and apply these principles, though becoming familiar and understanding how this works can save your life or greatly aid you if you ever need it.

Video’s are on the way, please support and send any questions for suggestions!

Note: My eye was damaged when I was 4yrs old during an accident; I was not, the victim of my own method 😉

And it may be hard to tell with such limited information, though my Basic Combat Flow TM and entire method; is the coalescence of Ninjutsu, MCMAP and Bruce Lee (with inspiration from Mortal Kombat, Deception;). And despite my great great grandfather, great grandfather and grandfather (basically my father) being Marines and having letters of recommendation from a Lt. Colonel and 2 Star General; I didn’t enlist per extreme political corruption, just saying in case you’re curious.

I hope you’ve enjoyed it and learned a lot, and please share!

Does Attempted Murder Suspect Have Ties to Delphi Murders?

Many people who have not experienced severe violence question why we need such brutal/effective tactics. I’ve never found it easy to communicate how horrible some “people” out there really are and how badly they will hurt others if or when they get the opportunity to do so.

.Rated PG-13!
The first video shows how a 9 year old girl was kidnapped at a block party and severely beaten, raped, bitten, strangled until she passed out and kept chained to the floor naked – until the hero/in police luckily rescued her. That, is part of why I emphasize extreme brutality against any attacker that forces violence upon themselves by attacking you.
